Canada ( Grey ) Jay
The Canada Jay is a fluffy corvid found in boreal and subalpine forests across Canada and the Northern United States. It is known for its curious nature and its ability to cache food for winter survival by coating the food items with sticky saliva and hiding it under bark, tree crevices or among lichen. This is Canada’s national bird. It was chosen to be that in 2016. One of the reasons is that it holds cultural significance for many Indigenous peoples.
